Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman has partnered with the International OCD Foundation to help raise awareness and combat stigma around obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Raisman, a two-time Olympic captain and a longtime advocate for mental health, is using her platform to bring attention to the realities of living with OCD, a condition that affects an estimated 240 million people worldwide. Raisman has spoken openly about her personal journey with OCD, sharing how it has impacted her life since childhood. She emphasizes the importance of diagnosis, validation, and support, noting that these elements have made a significant difference in her own recovery. This partnership seeks to expand public understanding of OCD, address misconceptions, and encourage those struggling to seek help. Raisman’s courage in sharing her story offers hope to many, reminding us that mental health challenges can affect anyone—even those who appear strongest on the outside. As a Christian community, we are called to walk alongside those who struggle with mental health, offering compassion and support rather than judgment. As we reflect on Aly Raisman’s advocacy, let us be inspired to create spaces of acceptance, empathy, and hope in our own communities. By listening, supporting, and praying for those with OCD and other mental health conditions, we honor Christ’s call to love one another deeply and without stigma.
