Encouragement

In this verse from Isaiah offers a powerful promise of God's presence and support. For those navigating the difficult journey of grief after suicide loss, these words provide comfort and strength.

The command "Fear not" is followed immediately by the reason: "for I am with you." God's presence is the antidote to our fear. The phrase "I am your God" reminds us of our relationship with Him - we belong to Him, and He to us. The promises that follow - to strengthen, help, and uphold - assure us of God's active involvement in our lives. The image of God's "righteous right hand" suggests His power and authority. Even in our deepest grief, when we feel weak and overwhelmed, God promises to hold us up.

Reflection

How have I experienced God's strength and help in my grief journey so far? In what areas do I need to more fully rely on God's promise to uphold me?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to be with me and to strengthen me. When I am tempted to fear or be dismayed, remind me of Your presence. I need Your strength and help today. Please uphold me with Your righteous right hand as I navigate this difficult journey. Help me to lean on You and find courage in Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.
