NWA Ride to Fight Suicide brings hope to Rogers community

The NWA Ride to Fight Suicide occurred on July 19 at Pig Trail Harley Davidson in Rogers, Arkansas. The event, organized in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), brought  together riders and community members to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention. The ride ran from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The first 75 registrants received a commemorative t-shirt and ride pin, and all proceeds went towards education, research, advocacy, and support for those affected by suicide. It was  moving to see so many people from diverse backgrounds unite for a cause that touches countless lives. Events like these are a reminder that even in the darkest valleys, there are communities willing to step forward in hope and solidarity. As someone who has walked the road of suicide loss, I find comfort in seeing tangible action to break the silence and stigma that too often surround mental health struggles. From a Christian perspective, our faith calls us to be present for one another, especially in seasons of grief and despair.  The Apostle Paul encourages believers to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2, NIV). Participating in events like the NWA Ride to Fight Suicide is one way to live out this calling—offering support, raising awareness, and helping to provide resources for those in need. If you are struggling or grieving, know that God welcomes your pain and offers true rest. And as a community, we can be His hands and feet, reaching out with compassion and love.

The Christian Association for Survivors of Suicide Loss, Inc. (suicideloss.org) provides support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide through support groups and church support. If you are in crisis, dial 988 or 911 for assistance.
