Our Daily Devotional
Scripture, encouragement, reflection, and prayer for each day, written for Christians grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.
God will give his people strength and peace.
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Psalm 29:11
NIV

Encouragement
As we continue in our devotional for loss survivors, this Psalm reminds us of two precious gifts from the Lord: strength and peace. In the aftermath of suicide loss, both of these can seem to be beyond our reach. The weight of grief can leave us feeling weak, and the turmoil of emotions can rob us of peace.
Yet, this verse assures us that God gives strength to His people. This strength might manifest as the ability to face another day, to reach out for help, or to take just one more step forward toward healing. The peace God offers isn't the absence of trouble, but a deep-seated calm that can exist even in the midst of our pain. It's a peace that is even better than understanding everything that happened, and it comes from knowing we're not alone in our struggle, that God and other believers are with us and for us.
Reflection
Where in my grief journey do I most need God's strength and peace today?
Prayer
Lord, I desperately need your strength and peace to sustain me. Pour out these blessings on everyone who is traveling this painful road. Amen.
